We went to the Alhambra this weekend, a very old Muslim castle. The Mezquita is, apparently, nothing compared to this.

The arches that you see are Moorish, another word for Muslim. Their religion was not allowed to have plants, nor animals in it, for they believed to be above these things. They preferred simple design, unlike the later Christians, who came many years later.

Ok, moving on, next picture. Muslims had their own way of fancying things up, without living things in their design. Here you see a roof, reaching high, towards Heaven.

Next one, the amazing maze you see, was probably a small city, (we are not sure,) belonging to the amazingly short Spaniards of old. The big wall was probably there to guard the city, (again, I am not sure.)

The last two.
They came from the desert, with very little water, so the cherished the sound and sight of running water. They fancied gardens, and tall, beautiful towers, to add an excellent, awing, effect.

ADIOS!!
